Difficult Discussions Matter! – Implementer (Gold)
Difficult Discussions Matter! is a learning session to support you in becoming more aware of your own communication style and developing your understanding of active listening skills and the importance of this when experiencing conflict.
You will also gain an understanding of what makes some conversations more difficult and this session will help to prepare you for future conversations by using a simple approach.
This learning session enables you to reflect on your own behaviours and attitudes and those of others and will help you develop your confidence and feel motivated and assertive to have conversations which may be difficult.
To earn this badge you must:
- Attend a Difficult Discussions Matter! learning session and provide us with the date and place of your attendance (3 ½ hours)
- Tell us what aspect/s of the learning session you have implemented into your practice and/or a difficult discussion. Please demonstrate this by providing an example (around 250 words)
- Tell us what difference Emotional Intelligence has made to your practice and/or in a difficult discussion. Please demonstrate this by providing an example (around 250 words)
You must hold the Difficult Discussions Matter! Silver (reflector) badge before you can apply for this badge
You will need to provide answers to the questions set out in the criteria as evidence for this Open Badge. Please include the date and place of the session you attended in your evidence.
You can use the information and activities you participated in during the session to evidence your learning in any way that is appropriate and helpful for you to answer the criteria. You can also submit any other evidence of learning which can include a 1 minute video, podcast or a visual representation of your learning.
